As is the case with mobility sectors such as automobiles, two-wheel alternatives are also experiencing an expansion in terms of 100% electric possibilities. Within the scope of mopeds, one of the most recent and striking innovations is the so-called Ubco 2x2 Special Edition.
As soon as you see the vehicle, you can already see that it is not a conventional proposal like the ones we can come across on the streets of any city. And it is that its possibilities go beyond displacements through urban areas. To begin with, it is worth noting its robust appearance, which already offers clues about its adventurous nature.
Until now, the Ubco firm had two alternatives in its range, known as the 2x2 Adventure and 2x2 Work Bike. Now, with the arrival of the 2x2 Special Edition, the options grow when deciding. It must be taken into account that it is a moped with an all-wheel drive system (something very unusual in the sector), since both wheels are driven.
Thanks to this, this silent and emission-free vehicle is endowed with qualities that allow it to offer ambitious behavior on surfaces other than asphalt. The fastest variation that is perceived in the new 2x2 Special Edition with respect to the Adventure 2x2 that it takes as a base can be seen in the colors. And it is that the newly released proposal has the upper half in green with some details in orange, while the lower part is glossy black.
On top of that, the Special Edition 2x2 comes with enhanced cargo hauling capabilities. It has two integrated luggage racks on the front and rear, but it also has a 30-liter rear bag with side pockets and orange elastic straps for the front area. These elements are very practical if it is necessary to place an additional backpack in this part.
There is also a storage compartment in the top center (situated just above the 3.1 kWh battery pack), whose capacity reaches 12 liters. Both the rear bag and the central compartment are waterproof and removable. It should be noted that the aforementioned rear bag has an ingenious expandable compartment designed to carry, for example, a laptop.
In total, the electric moped (weighing 70.7kg) allows for a payload capacity of 150kg, including the driver. The Ubco 2x2 Special Edition is built on a stainless steel chassis and has a 1 kW electric motor in each wheel hub. The battery that powers both motors provides a range of up to 120 km.
For our continent, its maximum speed is limited to 45 km/h. The price of the new moped will be around 8,000 euros and the first units will begin to be delivered next April.
