Suzuki Swift, the ideal car to go skiing and move around the city without restrictions from 18,500 euros

The Swift is a key car in Suzuki's history. More than 9 million units have been produced since its birth as a global model in 2004, spread over three successful generations. Furthermore, its arrival on the market embodied Suzuki's new design, development and manufacturing model from then on.

During two decades of experience it has demonstrated its qualities as a city car characterized by its agility, compact dimensions and spacious interior. It embodies many of Suzuki's values, being a practical, light, intelligent, efficient and reliable car. In addition, it has gone one step further and has become a design icon and a cult model for driving lovers.

The essence of the Swift has not changed over the years. It has been evolving without losing its identity, showing the durability of a design and a concept that has been consolidated and has differentiated it from other urban cars.

In its new release, the Suzuki Swift takes up the basic lines and shapes of the first generation and, on the other hand, accentuates the changes that the third generation brought about. The shoulder line is more marked than ever and connects with the hood, while the wheel arches have more subtle volumes. For its part, the rear door handle returns to a traditional shape on the door itself.

The rear pillar connects with the roof to accentuate the chromatic contrast in the two-tone versions, while the new front headlights nod to those of the first generation, maintaining the wide grill that debuted in the third installment. New is the change in the location of the brand logo, which leaves the grille and is located above it.

The dimensions of the Swift remain practically unchanged, responding to a concept of an urban and compact car. The generation that is now debuting has a length of 3.86 m and a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.

The Japanese urban car presents a renewed interior with a more modern design and has a central set of controls subtly oriented towards the driver. The two-tone black and light gray dashboard, together with the satin silver details, generate a sporty and dynamic look.

The instrument panel adopts a 4.2-inch color display, while the 9-inch HD touch screen of the infotainment system offers quick and precise response. It has Wireless Smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In addition, it displays relevant information for the driver about the status of the vehicle and the Suzuki Connect app allows access from the smartphone to a wide range of connected services related to the car.

In the mechanical section, the Suzuki Swift debuts an efficient 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, which offers 83 HP of power. With a 12-volt mild hybridization system, the entire range has the ECO label and has adjusted consumption, between 4.4 and 4.7 liters per 100 km in the WLTP combined cycle, depending on the type of transmission.

This mechanics can be associated with a manual or automatic gearbox, and also with Suzuki's AllGrip Auto all-wheel drive based on a viscous coupling system, being the only model in its segment with the possibility of incorporating four-wheel drive.

Starting from the same platform as the previous model, the new generation of the Suzuki Swift continues to advance in safety and incorporates more than ten Advanced Safety Systems (DSBS II) in all its versions, in addition to adding two new driving assistance systems, such as They are the lane keep assist and the driver monitoring system.

Suzuki offers three equipment levels called S1, S2 and S3, with a complete set from its basic version. Standard equipment includes a navigation system, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors or a rear view camera.

As a novelty in the color range, with thirteen options to choose from, the Suzuki Swift presents nine monochrome and four two-tone shades. The Frontier Blue and Cool Yellow tones are exclusive to the new model. Prices are not yet official, but Suzuki announces that the Swift could cost from 18,500 euros, once the launch campaign has been applied.
