A very dangerous situation occurred in a residential area of Burgos. Three people were crossing the street at a pedestrian crossing, when a car invaded the opposite lane at high speed, forcing pedestrians to stop to avoid being hit.
The images, shared by the dashcams.esp account through its Instagram account, and recorded by the car that stopped to let pedestrians cross the street, show how the events occur on a street with a double continuous line on which It appears to be a residential area.
In these areas the maximum speed allowed is 20 km/h, as indicated by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) and the video shows how the vehicle in question circulates at a higher speed, and warns of its presence by honking.
"In pedestrian areas, when vehicles cross them through the crossings enabled for this purpose, drivers have the obligation to let pedestrians pass through them," states Article 65.2 of the General Traffic Regulations. Many Internet users reacted to the events and could not believe what they saw. "Overtaking is prohibited at a pedestrian crossing, and even less so at that speed."
