Fine this reckless young woman for driving the moped like she was in Zumba class

The Mossos d'Esquadra have denounced a young woman for recklessly driving a moped in Olot. The girl was driving the vehicle while she did not stop moving, just as if she was dancing or working out in a Zumba class. As detailed by the Catalan security force through her Twitter account, she has been given a financial penalty of 600 euros and six points have been removed from her driving license.

"Reckless behavior at the wheel can cause an accident", recall the Mossos d'Esquadra, who also point out that the "moped is an unstable vehicle", even more so if someone starts dancing on it.

In the video published on social networks, you can see how the driver drives on a conventional road with one lane in each direction. When traveling on a moped, she cannot exceed 45 km / h and has to move on the right shoulder.

The regulations indicate that this type of vehicle must circulate on that part of the road as long as it is passable and sufficient. In the case of not being, they will use the essential part of the road, something that the driver does not do, since she moves through the middle of the lane.

In addition, he handles his mount in a totally reckless way: he moves his legs while dancing on the seat of the moped and even releases his hands from the handlebars to continue with his dangerous choreography. She gets up, sits down again. And she even puts her legs up on the vehicle's handlebars, a movement that some users have reminded of the exercises that can be done in a Zumba class.

Beyond the administrative sanction, reckless driving can lead to jail sentences. According to article 380 of the Penal Code, whoever drives a motor vehicle or a moped recklessly and consequently endangers the lives of others, will have their permit withdrawn for 1 to 6 years and faces imprisonment for 6 years. months to 2 years.

If this conduct is also carried out with "manifest disregard for the lives of others", the punishment will entail a prison sentence of two to five years, a fine of twelve to twenty-four months and the deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds. for a period of six to ten years.
