Construction booths in Sagunt: PowerCo starts work on the land of the future gigafactory

Starting today, and for a period of about two months, the workers will prepare the ground on which the future SEAT-Volkswagen gigafactory in Valencia has to be built. The CEO of PowerCo Spain, Thomas Dahlem, has confirmed that the company has started this morning the first works on the land of the Sagunt gigafactory. "Preliminary work" and temporary installations necessary for the future construction of the plant, the German company clarifies.

Specifically, these first works include the installation of containers or construction sheds for future construction equipment, as well as the installation of basic services and temporary water, electricity and telecommunications connections. Likewise, they point out, access roads will be made to allow heavy machinery to enter the land and the area will be fenced.

The company is taking steps for the project that aspires to turn the Valencian territory into the mobility hub of southern Europe. The works announced today are joined by those carried out by the company at its headquarters in Valencia, where the hiring processes for technical personnel are still underway.

Currently, there are 25 active job openings on the company profile, the last updated on November 16. The company maintains an active attitude in professional networks such as LinkedIn to attract talent, one of the main reasons why the company was located in Valencian territory, near the Polytechnic, among others.
