Ariadna Ródenas one step away from getting her second Titan Desert

Ariadna Ródenas (Mondraker) from Elche will have the honor of celebrating this Friday in Neom the second consecutive title in the Titan Desert Saudi Arabia, once she concluded the third stage with victory, to which her direct rival, the Dutch Tessa Kortekaas.

"Tessa did not start and I went out to save the stage without problems. It has not been easy, there was a lot of sand and I rode alone for a long time, it meant a lot of wear and tear. Tomorrow I hope to enjoy it, it is a short, beautiful stage, next to the Red Sea , and I will try to enjoy it to the fullest," he explained at the finish line next to the Tabuk camp.

For the winner of the Titan in Morocco 2021 and Arabia 2022, "a victory is always enjoyable, and being able to take the Mondraker brand to another continent is a source of pride," she noted.

The woman from Elche discovered racing in the desert because she always felt attracted "by difficult challenges", which is why in 2019 she signed up for the Titan of Morocco, although she could not run until 2021 due to the pandemic.

"Before doing mountain biking I participated in road races, I liked long races, ultramarathons. I started riding a bike when I was 27, before I ran on foot. I was preparing for competitive exams and through some friends who were going to prepare for a duathlon I took the bike and I stopped running on foot. I saw that I was better on the bike and that I enjoyed it more," he recalls.

Ariadna, who previously worked on a production line in her company, moved to a more comfortable position to combine work and cycling.

"I hope to continue in mountain biking, but this goes in stages and maybe I will decide to try other sports. This year I was in the Cap Epic and came third in mixed duos. It is a challenge that I have pending," she explains.
