Zaragoza inaugurates a new pump track

The Zaragoza district of Arcosur has a pump track since Wednesday, it is a new free-use sports equipment for the enjoyment of youth and anyone who is fond of cycling.

The mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, and the deputy councilor for sports, Félix Brocate, have visited the facility together with representatives of the Aragonese Cycling Federation and the neighborhood fabric of the South District.

It is a pump track circuit with a circular route, made up of various slopes and curvatures that allow you to perform jumps and acrobatics. This type of sport has experienced a significant boom in recent years, as demonstrated by the success of the existing slopes in Parque Goya and Parque Grande José Antonio Labordeta.

It is a sports leisure activity that adapts to audiences of all ages and levels, and that represents an alternative for the healthy occupation of free time.

The construction of this new equipment has involved an investment of 75,020 euros, VAT included, for which the Zaragoza City Council has obtained European financing from the Next GenerationEU funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, within the call for the realization of actions aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles.

The pump track occupies an area of ​​993.85 square meters and represents the culmination of a larger municipal plot, the Arcosur Elementary Sports Facility, which in recent years has been equipped with multi-sports fields with baskets and goals and a skate park. , with lighting equipment.

It is located next to the Arcosur public school, in a space that has not been used until now, between the avenues Cañones de Zaragoza, 21 de Junio, Cierzo and Paseo Arqueros.

The action is part of the commitment of the Zaragoza City Council to expand, improve and diversify the network of sports facilities in the city, one of the strategic axes of the candidacy to be the European Capital of Sport 2026.

The Zaragoza City Council has promoted investment through the municipal society Zaragoza Deporte, with the monitoring and supervision of the Architecture Conservation Service. The execution has been carried out by the company Pumptrack Park S.L, following the Project and the Facultative Direction carried out by the company MSM Arquitectos SCP.
