Yurts, bubbles, safari tents... alternatives to go glamping in the Valencian Community

One thought that to spend the night in a yurt you had to travel to Mongolia. But it turns out that you don't have to go beyond Ribarroja. Of course, it is necessary to spend about 187 euros to sleep two people in this unique accommodation (price for one night on the first weekend of November) called Arco Iris, highly rated by clients who have passed by there, and located just 30 kilometers from Valencia.

Yurts, bubbles, safari tents, kampaoh... the terminology does not help to delve into this neo-romantic phenomenon of 'glamping', a combination of the words 'glamour' and 'camping', which were once antonymous concepts and today coexist as in the past. They did it only in the camps of kings and generals in conquest. Or more recently in safaris and exotic excursions of millionaires in search of adventures resting on feather mattresses and fed with silver cutlery. "I had a farm in Africa..."

Today you don't have to go to the Serengeti to see the stars from a bubble (bubble, for the initiated). In Càlig, Castellón, they offer us a double with panoramic views of the sky, on a private plot of 250 m2, in the middle of nature "respecting the ecosystem itself as much as possible." It is a good idea to make sure that the night will be clear, because it is not a matter of paying the 330 euros that the getaway costs - with breakfast and dinner included, of course - only to have it rain on you later.

The plan seems ideal for those who like to enjoy nature as long as it is kept out of the bedroom, because in the heart of the Baix Maestrat countryside they offer filtered water, air conditioning, filters against viruses and bacteria, a bathtub at the foot of the bed , bathrobe, towels, slippers, amenities (whatever that means), eye mask and hair dryer. The accommodation has the appropriate name of Cálig Nights.

With similar prices and characteristics there are other bubbly establishments in places like Guadalest or Villena. Or the pioneer of them all, located in the Castellón town of Tírig, baptized as Zielo de Levante, whose most modest bubble available on a weekend in November costs 285 euros per night. To which we can add a romantic dinner for 68.

Although since we are here, for just 420 euros per night, we can have the Presidential Neptuno, which includes, among other luxuries, a 4x2 private pool (big like a bathtub, but a pool...) and a telescope. Another of their attractions is that they pride themselves on organizing the most romantic and original proposals, although we do not know if there is a discount in case of a negative response.

Naturally, there are establishments in the glamping sector in which, unlike in these sophisticated bubbles, the second part of the equation - the camping - predominates over the first, - the glamour, which allows them to offer more earthly prices.

The curious reader will want to know, for example, what the heck a kampaoh is. Easy: they are tents set up and prepared, spacious, with more amenities than the camper can carry in his car, including a private bathroom with shower and an outdoor dining area.

We chose an option, Cova Negra, in Marxuquera, near Gandia, where for 88 euros a night for two people or 106 for four, they also promise us comfortable mattresses, a refrigerator, a fan and a natural space with a pool to share with the rest of the hikers. Lacking the sumptuous intimacy of the previous offerings, there are stars at night here too. Overall, if the thing is to leave the house...
