Xavier Casanovas will be the new general manager of Badalona Comunicació

Xavier Casanovas will be the new general manager of Badalona Comunicació

The Plenum of the City Council of Badalona (Barcelonès Nord) in the ordinary session of the month of December has agreed on the appointment as director of the municipal company Badalona Comunicació SA of Xavier Casanovas Zurano, member 12,059 of the College of Journalists of Catalonia, who will be linked to the aforementioned company for a high-level employment contract.

The agreement states that the remuneration and management expenses derived from the Casanovas senior management contract, such as social security registrations, will be covered by the budget of the company Badalona Comunicació SA. However, your contract can now be made effective.

Casanovas has been elected as general director of Badalona Comunicació following the procedure established in the Audiovisual Law of Catalonia, being chosen by the Board of Spokespersons, validated by the company's Advisory and Advisory Council, and with the favorable vote of at least two thirds of the plenary session. Casanovas will replace Josep Viñeta Balsells as head of Badalona's public media, who has held these functions for the last eight years.

Casanovas has been content director at Onda Cero Catalunya and presenter and announcer in other media such as Radio 4, Televisión Española, Betevé, Como Radio, Onda Rambla, la Red, Televisión L'Hospitalet and Cugat Mèdia, among others. For his work as a journalist, he has received the Ondas Award for Best News Coverage for the attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, the Civic Award from the Generalitat and the Montserrat Roig Award from Barcelona City Council.
