White rhino born at UK zoo

Whipsnade Zoo is in luck because a white rhino has recently been born. Son of a first-time mother, Jaseera, and an experienced father, Sizzle, this little one was born early in the morning and in perfect health. The animal's breeders consider that the mother is very calm and gentle with her baby.

Those responsible for the zoo were able to breathe easy when the little rhino sucked its mother's udder for the first time, four or five hours after giving birth.

These types of births are very powerless due to the persecution to which the species is subjected, for its coveted horn, and for the destruction suffered by its natural habitat. Last year alone, around 500 animals were killed in South Africa for this trade.
