Where and how to apply for the youth voucher for rent in Catalonia

The Government has opened this Wednesday, September 28, the process to sign up for the youth voucher for rental aid in Catalonia, intended for those under 36 years of age and who earn less than 23,664 euros per year. The call for grants to apply for the bonus will be open until October 7 at 3:00 p.m.

The aid will have a maximum limit of 250 euros per month - from 20 euros - and will be available to people who have a rental contract or transfer of use of a home or room. When awarding the bonds, the applicant's income, the income of the territory in which he lives, as well as the income of the cohabitation unit will be taken into account. Precisely, Social Rights has highlighted the fact that, unlike the State rental aid line, this call is not awarded "on a first-come, first-served basis."

The amount of the subsidy will be 20% of the annual rental price when the effort to pay the rent is equal to or less than 30% of your income, it will be 30% of the amount of the rent when the effort to pay the rent is greater 30% and less than 40% of the weighted income, and it will be 40% of the amount of the rental income when the effort to pay the rent is equal to or greater than 40% of the weighted income.

For example, a young person with 12,000 euros of income from anywhere in Catalonia, who has a rent of 600 euros, will receive 240 euros, while another young person who also pays 600 euros of rent but enters 23,300 euros, will receive 180 euros.

In a statement, the Generalitat has explained that all young people who have not requested or have been denied the Government Youth Rental Voucher can present themselves to them.

The new line has a budget of 29 million and aims to reach 14,000 people, and is part of the 300 million package of measures announced this Tuesday by the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, in Parliament to combat inflation.
