War and peace in Mora d'Ebre

I have captured this series of photographs for La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos of the marina of the current Club Nàutic de Mora d'Ebre, in the Ribera d'Ebre region, where you can see the beautiful boats, both modern as well as traditional, rowing and sailing from the cultural heritage of the Ebro lands.

In the same place there is a real-size reproduction of a pontoon, one of the iron barges that were used precisely in these same places on the river in the Battle of the Ebro in 1938, in the Civil War.

They served as a base for the wooden planks that formed the provisional bridges of the Republican Army's pontooners.

Where war once was, in the same place, today the peace and beauty of the relationship between men and the river reign.

In this series of drawings I have captured scenes from the Civil War, when pontoons were being made for the passage of the troops that had to fight in the battle.
