Vox offers its support to the PP without the condition of entering the governments

At Vox's national headquarters "they are still waiting" for the Popular Party to "take a step" to start negotiations that open the door to changes of government in various autonomous communities -and many other provincial capitals-, according to party sources. Despite the good results achieved by the formation of Santiago Abascal, they acknowledge "not being in a position" to lead any negotiation, but they also warn that they are "necessary" to articulate these alternative majorities.

The extreme right continues with its hand fully extended to the popular, despite the fact that the strategy of the barons of the PP who did not obtain an absolute majority on 28-M is, in principle, to appear at the investiture session without having closed any type of by prior arrangement with Vox. The PP needs the vote in favor of the Vox deputies in Extremadura, the Valencian Community and Aragon; while it is enough to abstain in Murcia and the Balearic Islands.

Despite the fact that their initial objective was to repeat the formula of the Government of Castilla y León -with a vice president of Vox-, from the formation they lower expectations. In that hand extended to Genoa, they insist that they are interested in sitting down at the table to negotiate government agreements that include their programmatic measures rather than seats in the autonomous governments. And these measures –focused on solving the supposed problem of citizen insecurity that plagues the country– can be implemented “from inside or outside the government”. That is to say, prioritizing the government agreements in front of the entry into the executives.

The electoral program with which Vox presented itself to the past regional elections is the same for the different regions. With a few dozen points ranging from "the protection of workers and families against rising prices" to "educational and linguistic freedom without ideological interference", going through "the fight against illegal immigration and the growing insecurity in our neighborhoods and homes. They also demand "a drastic reduction in taxes and radical reduction of ineffective political spending, chasing corruption" or "defend our agricultural product against bureaucracy, radical environmentalism and unfair foreign competition."

Abascal will demand to include these measures "according to the proportionality of the forces" obtained last Sunday at the polls in each community.

In Vox they say they are not in a hurry, although they believe that the "urgent" thing is to evict the left-wing governments "as soon as possible." For this reason, they would be willing to agree with the Popular Party if at first the populares ignore them – in line with the strategy up to now. The formation chaired by Abascal thus opens the possibility of some first failed investiture sessions – “there will be no gifts or blackmail” – but then they would continue to be willing to agree when “the PP realizes” that they are not going to bluff. This hypothetical scenario would occur, in any case, after the general elections scheduled for July 23.
