Vingegaard devastates everything and everyone in Galicia

A hurricane named Jonas has hit Galicia for the last three days. Not even the storm of rain and wind has been able to stop Vingegaard, who has also defeated the cold and the water. Very rarely had such a hoarding version of the Danish champion been seen. It seemed that only the Tour and his endless duel with Pogacar were capable of bringing out that voracious side of the leader of Visma (former Jumbo) but in O Gran Camiño Vingegaard has devastated everything and everyone.

Just like a year before, the Dane has repeated his exhibition. He has once again won three stages and the overall race. The second in the classification is almost two minutes away (Lenny Martinez), last year it was two and a half (Jesús Herrada). He almost didn't care that he could barely be seen on television. Where he planned to attack, he attacked and won how he wanted. That determination is what has made him fearsome.

The season that he intends to be with his third Tour begins with an intractable Vingegaard, whom no one could cough up. Yellow on yellow, the leader's (jersey created by Zara) above Visma's. He already has 30 victories in his record, with the curiosity that 14 of them have been achieved in Spain (and five in the Tour).

There were only six World Tour teams racing, the participation was not the most glamorous but Vingegaard has been several steps above the rest of the peloton. Going up, down and on the flat. On Friday he left Egan Bernal and the Ecuadorian Cepeda nailed. On Saturday he marched alone against a group of almost 20 units, but he couldn't cut it even an inch. On Sunday he defeated the small French climber Lenny Martínez, who was the leader of the last Vuelta a España.

For the Visma boss, who also put Uijdebroeks fifth overall, it was not a problem that in the last stage Mount Aloia was only climbed once of the two ascents that were planned. Under a downpour, he attacked again, stood up on the bike and delivered the blow to win for the third day in a row. Always methodical but with more instinct than ever.

And he didn't do it fully because in the initial time trial in A Coruña he decided to take it easy once the organization, due to the gusts of wind, neutralized the times for the general classification. The question will always remain whether, if not, he could have stood up to the giant Joshua Tarling on the way to the Tower of Hercules.
