Vidal asks Nogueras for responsibility and calls Turull's statements unfortunate

The number one on the list for Barcelona of Sumar-En Comú podem has just asked Junts to act responsibly. Aina Vidal understands that, given the results in Catalonia of the last general elections, the sovereignists cannot stop the constitution of a new left-wing government, and that doing anything else would mean ignoring the will of the Catalans.

"I consider the latest statements by Jordi Turull to be unfortunate", stressed Vidal in relation to the words of the general secretary of JxCat, who this morning with a post-election hangover pointed out that "I don't see the investiture anywhere right now". In addition, Turull wanted to call on ERC and the rest of the pro-independence forces to take advantage of the circumstances to jointly raise questions of amnesty and self-determination to the Socialists.

"And I ask Míriam Nogueras for responsibility," Vidal added, "that she think about what Catalonia is at stake at this time. In fact, I will tell her as soon as I have the opportunity. The Catalans voted this Sunday for a government of progress. Their will is clear. We cannot give second chances to the right and the extreme right. We all understand what it would mean not to endorse Sánchez's investiture."

The head of the Junts list in Barcelona already declared shortly after the results of these elections were known that "we will not make Sánchez president for nothing", and also indicated that they do not forget that at the last moment and thanks to the support of the commons, the socialist Jaume Collbni seized the mayor's office of Barcelona from the winner of the last municipal elections, the leader of Junts Xavier Trias.

The Sumar-En comú podem candidate preferred not to elaborate on how this scenario could affect the government of the Barcelona City Council. "Our votes cannot support right-wing mayors", she limited herself to stressing.

Vidal, who already sent the first messages to those of Junts last night, also insisted on considering the latest results of his training very positive, which despite failing to increase its representation in the Congress of Deputies now stands as the second political force in Catalonia. "We have stopped the rout of the extreme right," she stressed with satisfaction.
