In the case of Vitoria as European Green Capital of 2010, it was achieved for two years, 2010 and 2011, a temporary request that Valencia also makes.

Catalá's request occurred during the opening ceremony of the two days that the city celebrates to commemorate the milestone that it occupies. After the inauguration this morning, there have been several panels with various experts in the climate mission, nature, public space or mobility and this afternoon will be the most formal part of the event, with the solemn signing of the letter of intent by the mayor Catalá and Patrick Child, Deputy Director General of the Environment of the European Commission and Head of the Mission of the 100 Climate Neutral Cities, of which Valencia is a part.
