Two young people die in a traffic accident caused by a wild boar in Lugo

Two 18-year-olds have died in a traffic accident when the car they were traveling in left the road. The accident took place in Chantada (Lugo) last night, possibly as a result of a wild boar that crossed the road. The driver of the vehicle has emerged unharmed from the impact, although the two companions of him did lose their lives despite the attempts of the rescue and firefighting members to save them.

According to one of the first alerts and confirmed by the Civil Guard, the accident was caused by a wild boar that crossed the vehicle. The car collided with the security barrier when it was traveling on the N-540 at kilometer 53. Once the firefighters arrived, the two fatalities were released and the driver was treated, who suffered an anxiety attack.

After checking the condition of the driver, they proceeded to inform the specialist psychologists of the Group for Psychological Intervention in Catastrophes or Emergencies (GIPCE) in case specialized attention to the family and people close to the deceased were necessary. Members of the Civil Protection of Chantada and personnel from the road maintenance service also participated in the operation. Likewise, the notice was passed on to the Local Police.
