Pau Morente, student of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Informatics of Barcelona (FIB), and Gerard Grajera, student of Industrial Electronic and Automatic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at the School of Engineering of Barcelona East (EEBE), are the two representatives of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia - BarcelonaTech (UPC) participating in the third edition of this international meeting, the European Student Assembly (ESA). The event, which takes place in Strasbourg from April 10 to 12, brings together more than 200 students from most university alliances to debate current issues, draw up policy recommendations for the future of Europe and defend them before those responsible for the takeover. of decisions. Pau and Gerard are part of the group of ten students who represent the Unite! alliance. in the event. They will be accompanied by Pol Sabaté, Student Liasion Officer of Unite! at the UPC.

The European meeting of university students has demonstrated, with previous editions, a great success among students involved in the Alliances of European Universities willing to have an impact on shaping the future of the Union. ESA coordinators and participants will have the opportunity to contribute to 10 essential panel discussions with the aim of making a difference in European policies and decision-making processes. Previously, the students selected to participate in the Assembly have been working remotely on one of the topics that will be worked on during the sessions in Strasbourg, where specific recommendations and proposals for the European Commission will be prepared. The final result of the debates and agreements will be a common position document to share with European decision-makers in each area.
