Tour of the Civic Procession and the two demonstrations on October 9 in Valencia

The Civic Procession of October 9 already has its final route. Thus, the itinerary of the Senyera from the City Hall and to the Cathedral will be the same as that already announced and will run through the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Barcas, Poeta Querol, Paz and Plaza de la Reina to access the temple through the Puerta de los Irons.

Once the tedeum is over, the march will change route and leave the Cathedral through the Puerta de l'Almoina to access Calle de les Avellanas, Mar, Comedias y Paz, from where it will arrive at the Plaza de Alfons el Magnànim.

In the Parterre, the floral offering will be made before the equestrian statue of King Jaume I the Conqueror. Once the offering is over, the Civic Procession will return to the City Hall through the streets of Pintor Sorolla and Barcas, the council indicated in a statement.

The Civic Procession is opened this year by the Tabal and Dolçaina Russafa-fa School. The city's timbaleros will accompany the Senyera throughout the tour and the mayor, María José Catalá, will be the bearer. During the descent from the municipal balcony, the Senyera will receive ordinance honors and will descend without bowing. Once the march is over, a 'mascletà' will be fired in the Town Hall square.

In the afternoon, an entry of Moors and Christians is planned, who will parade through the streets of La Paz, Poeta Querol, Barcas, Plaza del Ayuntamiento and Marqués de Sotelo.

Two demonstrations will tour the center of the city of Valencia on the afternoon of next Monday, October 9, Valencian Community Day. Both will depart at the same time from the Plaza de San Agustín and will end at different points, sources from the Government Delegation confirm.

These are the marches called by Acció Cultural (ACPV) and the Coordinadora Obrera Syndical (COS). On October 9, 2022, there were three demonstrations: that of the New October Commission, that of COS and that of Asociación Cultural Puño y Letra.

This year, the Government Delegation received communications from the demonstrations organized by ACPV and COS within the deadline. They could be requested until last Friday night, which meant that the march announced this Sunday by the organization Ahora España was disallowed.

Specifically, the traditional Acció Cultural demonstration will start at 6:00 p.m. from the Plaza de San Agustín and continue through Xàtiva and Cerdán de Tallada streets until ending at the Parterre around nine at night. It will have as its motto 'For an anti-Feixist Valencian Country'.

The march called by COS will also begin at 6 p.m. in Plaza de San Agustín, from where it will continue through Xàtiva and Colón streets to Porta de la Mar, Navarro Reverter street and Plaza América, with a scheduled end at 10 p.m. hours
