Journalist Toni Clapès, from RAC1, has been recognized as the best radio professional in the 23rd edition of the Ràdio Associació awards, announced this morning by the president of the body's governing council, Jordi Margarit.

Journalist Toni Clapès, from RAC1, has been recognized as the best radio professional in the 23rd edition of the Ràdio Associació awards, announced this morning by the president of the body's governing council, Jordi Margarit. More awarded this year were Joan Lluís Garcia, from RAC1, the programs 'El suplement' from Catalunya Ràdio and 'Podríème fer ho millor', from À Punt Mèdia, and the platform La Xarxa. The award ceremony will take place on Thursday 20 April in the ONCE Auditorium in Barcelona in a gala presented by Jair Domínguez, Neus Rossell and Peyu ('El Búnker') from 7.30pm.

The prize for the best radio professional went to Toni Clapés, director of the programs 'Versió' ('Original Version' on Catalunya Ràdio and 'Versió RAC1'). "Since its beginnings 25 years ago, it has led the country's radio evenings. He has been able to build a particular and choral universe, where the talent, information and entertainment of a very powerful team have become references in the daily life of the listeners", highlighted the jury. The Excellence Award has been given to the 35 years of 'El Suplement', from Catalunya Ràdio, "a consolidated entertainment and information space for the weekend" which has been hosted by Xavier Solà, Núria Ferré, Tatiana Sisquella, Silvia Cóppulo, Ricard Ustrell and currently by Roger Escapa.

The award for best program has been for “Podríem fer-ho millor”, by À Punt Mèdia, from Valencia, “a 'disaster' magazine that, based on the most outstanding information of the week, drifts towards entertainment and 'humor' with a an outstanding group of collaborators who feed the good atmosphere of the program”, maintains the jury. In this category, the jury has decided to award a mention to La Sotana, a podcast that from the football-themed prism "analyzes current affairs in a direct and acid way, using irony and criticism as elements that underpin part of the of his success."

In the category of Innovation, award for the new audiovisual platform La Xarxa, from the Local Audiovisual Network, "a free content platform in Catalan that positions local audiovisuals in the digital ecosystem in accordance with new consumption habits". And a mention of quality for 'L'informative Viral', from the Associació Escola de Ràdio y Digital Journalisme de l'Empordà, from Pals, "an informative microspace that bets on new formats and audiovisual networks presented by young people who understand the tone and tempo of networks such as Tik-Tok or Instagram”.

The Inclusion award went to 'Yes, and what?', from Ràdio Palafrugell, a program that talks about the day-to-day life of people with functional diversity and at risk of social exclusion, "addressing uncomplicated and yet serious issues like sex or the way to overcome everyday obstacles". A mention of quality has also been awarded for 'Between today and tomorrow. Chronicles from Ethiopia', from IB3 Radio, "a series that shows in a very simple way different sketches of the daily life of the inhabitants of Ethiopia drawn from the journey of the health NGO Llevant en Marcha".

As the best Local Radio program, 'Com ho veus?', by Ràdio Igualada, has been awarded, “a program that enhances the listener's knowledge of the spaces of the city with special care in the description through the conduct of its director who He is blind, David Panadés”. In this category, the mention of quality has gone to 'Coblejant', from Radio Calella Televisió, “a transmedia magazine on the copla and the sardana that integrates radio, television and social networks; it avoids stereotypes and is broadcast by 60 local stations”.
