Two men and a woman, relatives of each other, have been arrested in Alicante for allegedly having extorted and threatened a construction businessman for a year over a debt of 3,000 euros that he had incurred and for which he ended up paying them around 30,000 euros, according to The National Police reported this Thursday.

Those arrested, between 28 and 58 years old, went to the victim's home after jumping the perimeter fence to intimidate him. They also made him believe that they were the intermediaries and that the main lender was a man of known danger who, in turn, threatened them if he did not return the money lent. Sources close to the case have told EFE that the bank account of one of the detainees has been blocked.

The police investigation began after the businessman reported to the Alicante provincial police station, in which he claimed to be suffering continuous threats following the request for a loan of 3,000 euros with abusive conditions: he had to pay 6,000 euros the following month to pay off. Debt.

The victim managed to raise 5,000 euros, money that he gave to the lenders, but was unable to pay the remaining 1,000 euros. Then a series of threats began, which lasted for a whole year, until the extorted person went to the Police to report the facts.

The suspects forced the businessman to download a mobile application that automatically deletes conversations after a short period of time, with the aim of erasing any evidence that could incriminate them.

They also began to demand the monthly amount of 2,500 euros, which he paid for several consecutive months, and forced him to carry out masonry work in a commercial premises owned by them and to hire two workers in their company indicated by the extortionists with a salary above of the rest of the employees.
