Three arrested for using children between the ages of 9 and 12 in a counterfeit clothing brand workshop

The Municipal Police of Madrid has arrested three people responsible for an illegal workshop for printing garments and articles of well-known brands without authorization, using minors between the ages of 9 and 12, a spokeswoman for the Local Corps has informed Europa Press.

Three arrested for using children between the ages of 9 and 12 in a counterfeit clothing brand workshop

The Municipal Police of Madrid has arrested three people responsible for an illegal workshop for printing garments and articles of well-known brands without authorization, using minors between the ages of 9 and 12, a spokeswoman for the Local Corps has informed Europa Press.

The police intervention took place a few days ago after a citizen warned that they were apparently robbing a store in the Madrid district of Puente de Vallecas. Several agents came to the place, commissioners, who verified that the door was open, with people entering and leaving in a strange way.

For this reason, the police entered the premises and observed several people, some clearly minors, working with the machinery in operation. When registering them, they verified that four of them were minors: 11 years old, 9 years old, 12 years old and 10 years old. One of the mothers was also employed there.

They were all working on stamping well-known brands on cases, watches, garments, and other items. In addition, one of the mothers, of two who are working, is located inside the premises, as well as glasses, glasses cases, watches and bracelets. The agents also found 22 machines for sealing, printing and stamping and three laptops connected to the machines and with brand logos.

Those responsible for the workshop did not have the authorization or license of the brands to make use of them, for which they were arrested accused of an industrial property crime. Charges for labor exploitation of minors could also be derived.
