They find the bodies of a woman and a man next to a shotgun in a house in Pozoblanco

Another new possible case of gender violence in Andalusia. If the Government Delegation against Gender Violence has just confirmed that the crime yesterday in Almería, where a man fatally attacked his partner with a knife, is a sexist murder, today the alarms went off in the Cordovan municipality of Pozoblanco after finding the corpse of a woman and a man inside a house together with a shotgun.

The Civil Guard is already investigating the facts, although the hypothesis that is gaining strength is that the attacker had shot his ex-partner and then committed suicide.

It was around 8:30 this morning when the victim's neighbors reported the event to the local police. Members of the National Police, the Civil Guard and the health emergency services would have also traveled to San Antonio street in the municipality. According to Diario Córdoba, it would have been a friend of the couple who would have found the dramatic scene inside the house and would have asked for help. Inside the house, according to this same newspaper, would be the youngest daughter of both, only two years old.

The 31-year-old victim was in the process of separating from her partner, the 39-year-old alleged aggressor. She had previously reported him for ill-treatment, according to investigators, although since 2018 there had been no active protection measure for her or any restraining order against him.

The victim, a native of Villanueva de Córdoba, had made a decision: to separate from her husband after a relationship of almost 10 years and with whom she had three children in common, aged between 2 and 6 years. Today was the day she was going to leave the family home, however she has not been able to rebuild her life and everything indicates that he ended her life and then committed suicide. A shotgun was found at the scene of the event.

The Police are also investigating the violent death of a 91-year-old woman in Valle Guerra, on the island of Tenerife, who would have been murdered by her 92-year-old husband.

If these two cases are confirmed as a sexist crime, the victims murdered by their partners or ex-partners in Andalusia would rise to 12, after it has been concluded that the crime that occurred yesterday in Almería is due to a case of gender violence. So far this year, 33 women have lost their lives for this cause, 35 if it is confirmed that the cases of Pozoblanco and Valle Guerra are gender violence.
