The Valents candidate for the 2023 municipal elections in Barcelona has called an event this Saturday at noon in front of Can Vies, in the Sants neighborhood, with the title “Out with squatters”. Once there, fifty people belonging to different social entities have gathered in front of the farm, squatted for more than twenty years, to boycott the act.
Parera has gone to Can Vies accompanied by the councilor of his group Óscar Benítez and the non-attached mayor Marilén Barceló.
Boos, whistles, and even a pan, have hindered Parera during his speech. In the end, the mayor has decided to end the event and leave Can Vies.
Parera herself has posted a video of the act this morning on Twitter in which she accuses Mayor Colau of being "one more squatter."
The announced presence of Parera in Can Vies has motivated agents of the Urban Guard and members of the ARRO unit of the Mossos to deploy a security device in the area this morning.
All have left the place escorted by the Mossos but without incidents being recorded, according to police sources and the Valents party.
