Initially, the prosecution requested a four-year prison sentence for the two accused for a hate crime and another of injuries, but an agreement was finally reached prior to the trial, which was scheduled to be held this Thursday in the fourth section of the Valencia Court, for which both have accepted six months in prison and the payment of a fine of 1,080 euros.
In addition, they must compensate the victim with around 5,000 euros - of which 3,000 have already been paid - and will be unable to exercise any educational or teaching profession for three and a half years. The non-entry into prison will be maintained as long as those convicted pay the remainder of the compensation and complete an equality course. The penalty has been reduced by applying the mitigating circumstance of reparation for the damage, as Europa Press has learned.
The events date back to March 4, 2023 when, around 12:40 a.m., the convicts approached another man who was at the intersection of Avenida Blasco Ibáñez and Ramón Llull Street and demanded that he give them some of the food he had received. had.
When he refused, the convicts began to attack him, hitting, punching and kicking him, while, in an attempt to undermine his integrity, they told him: "You're a fucking faggot, you're going to find out, gayolo."
As a result of the attack, the victim suffered several injuries and lost a tooth. The injuries caused him basic personal injury due to temporary injury of seven days.
