It is also noted that "it has managed to position itself as one of the most emblematic and recognized labels worldwide, and an irreplaceable icon". The president of the cavas, Joan Juvé Santacana, recalls that this cavas was created by his father Josep Juvé Camps with his uncle Joan, under the technical direction of Antoni Cantos González, who is the father of the current technical director of Juvé

The Reserva de la Familia was introduced in markets such as Madrid thanks to the previous commercial work that Joan Juvé Santacana carried out with his father with the old Grand Crû cava. They left Sant Sadurní d'Anoia at 5 in the morning with a Seat 600 and, after eating in Terrer, in the Calatayud region (Zaragoza), they arrived at around seven thirty in the afternoon at the Gran Hotel Reina Victoria in the capital. Spanish (known for a time as the Hotel de los Toreros).

The goal was to go sell the next day to as many grocery stores (few supermarkets existed then) and restaurants as possible. The design of the Reserva de la Familia label was by Joan Montserrat and his team from the AP studio on Tuset Street in Barcelona. Joan Juvé remembers countless anecdotes with the Reserva de la Familia. Perhaps the most unique was that of a shoeshine boy who worked on Larios Street in Málaga, in front of the Lepanto cafeteria, who received a generous tip from Joan Juvé. The shoeshine boy had previously polished his shoes on a wooden box from the Family Reserve.

This year this cava has reached its 50th vintage. The first bottles went on sale in 1976 after 3 years of aging. Since it was released on the market, it has maintained the same image, with slight tweaks, but retaining the characteristic metal clip that holds the cork stopper (initially this cava was aged during the second fermentation in a bottle with a cork stopper held with a clip). He defines it as a dish with intense flavors “that will combine with the complexity of the Reserva de la Familia.” And he adds that “cannelloni is a dish with a long preparation behind it, just like our cava, which has been aged for more than four years. Marked by the autolysis of the yeasts with an aromatic profile rich in toasted notes, sweet spices and truffle that harmonize perfectly with the dish. Furthermore, being completely dry and with a fine and delicate bubble, it compensates for the characteristic texture of cannelloni and béchamel.”
