The white wagtail sets an example against drought

In the medieval garden of the Pedralbes monastery in Barcelona, you can see the white wagtail, which I have portrayed in this report in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos, when she goes to drink from the pond.

This pond can be said to be a step forward in the measures that are being taken against the drought in Barcelona, since it has groundwater from Collserola.

The use of groundwater has become a very important ally in the face of the scarcity of water resources in the city of Barcelona, where it is very useful for cleaning streets or for watering parks and gardens.

Groundwater is characterized by its purity and freshness, as it usually goes through a natural filtration process, although it is important to avoid contamination.

This is underground water, aquifers that extend beneath the earth and feed springs and wells, in this case, the pond in the medieval garden of the Pedralbes monastery from the Collserola mountain range.

Groundwater comes mainly from rainfall infiltration, slowly filtering through the soil to form underground deposits.

Thanks to this water, birds like the white wagtail can quench their thirst in the city of Barcelona. A real example in these times of extreme drought when there is talk of bringing water in boats to alleviate the lack of rain.

The truth is that the white wagtail is more sociable than the other, yellow wagtail. She is nicer, because she looks at me when I do the photographic report, as can be seen in some of the images, although she is not still.
