The Thai police already have the results of the autopsy of Edwin Arrieta

Without a doubt, it is one of the most outstanding topics of the last weeks. The son of actor Rodolfo Sancho, Daniel, is in provisional prison in Thailand after having confessed to the murder and dismemberment of Edwin Arrieta Arteaga, a Colombian surgeon with whom he was on vacation on an island in the Asian country. Little by little more details about the case are known, and the last thing that has been known is that the results of the surgeon's autopsy are already in the hands of the Thai police.

The Thai authorities, in charge of clarifying what happened on the day of the murder of the surgeon, have already received the preliminary reports of Edwin's autopsy. Specific details, however, have not been disclosed. Suteep Chadakarn, one of the agents in charge of the investigation, assures in a statement collected by the EFE news agency that "we have received some autopsy results, which we are examining and cannot reveal yet."

Chadakarn has also reported that the search for Arrieta's body parts is still ongoing, since only 8 of the 17 parts in which he would have been dismembered have been found so far. Initially, the police considered that there were 15, which makes it difficult to carry out a full autopsy and to search for the remaining parts of the body. "We look for them especially on the beach," says the agent. On the other hand, Suteep further explains that they still need to "interrogate more witnesses before concluding the report, which is expected to happen this month."

On the other hand, the last week has not been easy for the relatives of Daniel Sancho, Edwin's alleged murderer, since it has come to light that both the Thai police and the prosecution have requested the death penalty for the defendant. Vicente Cacho, who is in charge of business at the Spanish embassy in Thailand, has brought a ray of light to the family and has confirmed that the investigation "is not closed". In fact, it seems that the Thai police are looking for new witnesses who can continue to clarify what happened.

This same Friday, the business manager of the Spanish Embassy in Thailand visited the son of actor Rodolfo Sancho. Vicente wants to be positive, since he believes that there is a chance that the situation will turn around. "The trial does not have a date because the investigation has not ended, despite what was said at the press conference," the diplomat sentenced the media that were gathered outside the prison. We will have to wait to find out more details about the case, a case that depends, to a large extent, on what the autopsy indicates.
