Victoria Palma, who is an adviser to the Cabildo de Tenerife, has indicated in the press conference after the meeting of the regional emergency team that "we had not seen in the archipelago" a fire that prolonged its convection for 34 hours straight and with a column of smoke between 3 and 4 kilometers, with peaks of 6.
This height has been maintained even during the night, when the flames usually descend, and Palma has stressed that the color of the sky that is perceived today on the island is not due to the clouds, but to the fire.
And it is that the fire "is creating its own meteorology" with a potential that is shown by the abundance of sparks, this is the impact of pieces of trees already turned into ashes, sometimes smoking, which give rise to new secondary sources of flames .
This situation will continue to repeat itself throughout the day and could cause problems in the next few hours, the meteorologist warned.
