The technological electric bike that allows you to charge your laptop

Today, with such a wide variety of possibilities in the field of electric bicycles, it is difficult for many brands to differentiate themselves from the rest to attract potential customers. On some occasions, firms opt for the technological field to give a special touch to their proposals, as is the case with the new Lemmo One.

To begin with, it should be noted that it is a vehicle awarded the "Best of the Best" award in the bicycle category at the prestigious Red Dot Design Awards 2023. Its manufacturer highlights that it is a bike capable of offering the best of both worlds, in reference to traditional bikes and those with electrical assistance.

And it is necessary to take into account that many electric bikes are quite heavy due to the size of the frame (generally somewhat larger than conventional ones) and the additional integrated components, especially the battery and the motor. This situation usually forces the cyclist to make an additional effort when he is not traveling in electric mode, something that has been tried to reduce in the Lemmo One.

It could be said that it is halfway between a traditional bike, another with an electric bike conversion kit and a standard electric bike. In addition, it is characterized by a design and components that will appeal to lovers of minimalism. All wiring is integrated inside the frame to maintain a cleaner aesthetic.

In the triangle of said box you can see an element that looks like a narrow bag, but that is actually the brain of the Lemmo One, called the Smartpac. This removable smart station houses the battery, the electrical system controller, the possibilities of connectivity and recharging of devices (smartphones, laptops, etc.) and is associated with a screen that can be consulted from the top tube when it is installed.

Once the Smartpac is in place, rechargeable in 3.5 hours, the Lemmo One becomes a 250 W electric bike with 40 Nm of maximum torque and an estimated range of 100 km per recharge. This figure will depend, of course, on the chosen driving mode and other circumstances such as the unevenness, the ambient temperature or the weight of the cyclist.

It should be noted that the motor is not in the Smartpac, but is installed in the hub of the rear wheel. Thanks to its small size, it is really discreet and can even go unnoticed with the naked eye.

If the battery charge runs out or we simply want to ride just by pedaling, like all life, we only have to extract the smart station and move a specific control from position "E" to "M".

The Lemmo One weighs 15 kg as a traditional bicycle, to which must be added 3 kg with the Smartpac attached. While it's not the world's lightest electric bike, it's light enough to appeal to urban cyclists who may need to take public transportation or lift to climb stairs.

This electric bike starts at 1,090 euros, a price to which another 900 euros must be added for the Smartpac. If you are interested in seeing it in full action, you just have to take a look at the video that accompanies this article.
