The spring sunset of Pedraforca

I captured this series of photographs for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia of the sunset on the mountain of Pedraforca, in the region of Berguedà.

Pedraforca is an emblematic mountain of Catalonia, located within the area of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and which forms the border between the provinces of Barcelona and Lleida.

As we can see, Pedraforca has a very peculiar shape due to its two peaks separated by a large hill, which gives it its name.

The northern summit is composed of two peaks: the Pollegó Superior (2506 m) next to the Calderer (2505 m). The south is formed by Pollegó Inferior (2445 m).

The closest towns are Gósol and Saldes. In 1982, it was declared a natural site of national interest by the Parliament of Catalonia.
