The source without drought hidden in a cave

In La Vanguardia Readers' Photos we can discover the fantastic balma (rock shelter in a cave) and fountain of the Bous, located below the Romanesque monastery of Santa Maria de Lluçà, a true hidden wonder.

It is a large cave, 40 meters long, which contains a small fountain at its southern end, which, as we can see in the images, has resisted the drought in Catalonia.

The cave, facing west, stands out for its great depth, about 13 meters. In some parts of the cave there are remains of an old fence to keep livestock.

The Font dels Bous drips water from three different points: the main one, on the left, enabled with tiles; the central one, formed by a channel cut into the rock and the one on the right, where the water falls over a small circular sink completely covered in moss.

Popularly, the cave and the rocky area around it are considered a meeting point for witches. This place is accessed via a small path that starts next to the Alzina Gran del Vilaró, near the monastery of Lluçà.
