The Roller Mountains of Sant Vicenç de Castellet, in the Bages region, are one of the small geological jewels that we have in the Geoparc of Central Catalonia.

As can be seen in this photographic report in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos, it is a geological formation of bluish marl that has suffered the erosive effect of water.

In addition, numerous fossils of marine animals that lived in this area millions of years ago have been found in this place.

This formation of the Muntanyes Russes is located at the foot of the Castellet hill and near the stream, in an area that has notable natural interest, but that in recent years is being converted into an industrial estate.

It has an approximate area of 400 m2 and a maximum slope of 60 meters. These bluish marls are a characteristic singularity of Sant Vicenç de Castellet and we find them in different places in the municipality, although the Russian Mountains are the largest formation in extension and with more pronounced shapes due to erosion.
