The PSOE demands an information campaign from Almeida in the face of "tremendous trouble" due to the reduction of polling stations

The Socialist Group of the city of Madrid demands the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, to launch an information campaign "immediately" in the face of the "tremendous mess" that is coming due to the change of dozens of electoral locations facing to the general elections of July 23 "without any warning". 15 schools have been eliminated when they find works and look for centers that have air conditioning.

The secretary of Coordination of the Socialist Group of the city of Madrid and councilor of the PSOE in the Consistory, Daniel Viondi, has stated that the Madrid City Council "has changed dozens of polling places without informing the public". "July 23 can be a tremendous mess for thousands of Madrid men and women who voted a month ago at an electoral location and now the Almeida government has changed their location without any notice," warned the PSOE mayor.

"Two official publications have been made (on the list of sections, polling stations and polling places) in just a few days, they have rectified themselves and the conclusion we have is that it will generate confusion for the people of Madrid who are going to vote on July 23", warned Daniel Viondi.

The Socialists ask the Government of Almeida to launch an information campaign on all these changes "immediately", which does not remain exclusively with the consultation that each citizen can make -- available at https://www-.madrid.es/ IDEAM_WBGEOPORTAL/consultaGeneral.iam?clave=LOCALELECTORAL-- but should promote "clear and precise" information on these modifications "so that no person from Madrid finds themselves on 23J when they go to vote with the fact that they do not have the precise information to exercise Your right".

A few days ago, the Madrid City Council held a plenary session to designate by computer draw the 31,302 men and women from Madrid who could form part of one of the 3,478 polling stations on July 23. The City Council reported that there would be 416 polling stations, 15 less than the 28M, a reduction that is explained by the execution of works and by opting for premises that do have air conditioning.
