The judge investigating the Azud case, which affects former leaders of the PSPV, has accepted that the PP and Vox appear in the case. But the instructor imposes several conditions, including that both formations share a lawyer and that each party provide a deposit of 10,000 euros. In addition, in her order, the judge observes that the decision to appear now is for electoral interest: "None of the parties has tried to appear, at least since the secrecy was lifted, appearing at this time when we are immersed in the middle of the electoral period , from which the true motives of said appearances could be inferred".
The investigation of the Azud case, which began several years ago and which is made up of several pieces, investigates, among others, the alleged irregular financing of the PSPV, as well as the collection of "bites" by former PP leaders expelled from the party, like Alfonso Grau. However, it is the data on the alleged corruption of former PSPV leaders that has encouraged the PP to request the appearance in the instruction. But what the party now led by Carlos Mazón does not expect are the conditions that the judge has imposed.
The trustee of the PP, María José Català, has announced that her party will appeal the bail required by the judge of 10,000 euros and the obligation to share a lawyer with the ultra-right; but she has made it clear that if that amount has to be paid, it will be paid in order to be present in the case.
