Agents of the National Police have arrested a man in the town of Argentona (Maresme) as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of grooming, corruption of minors, child pornography and sexual assault. The agents have identified nine victims although images with more than 70 different minors have been recorded. The arrested person, who has been imprisoned, used his private home to invite minors to sleep, having previously gained the trust of his parents; and once there, he photographed and recorded the sexual relations he had with them, even taking advantage of the child's sleep to commit non-consensual sexual acts. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that he traveled to different parts of Spain, and even abroad, to commit similar acts.
The investigation began in April 2023, as a result of a request for collaboration from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where they were investigating a complaint for an alleged crime of grooming through an instant messaging and voice chat application aimed at communities of gamers, in which the victim was a minor under 11 years old. The home of the alleged aggressor was located in the town of Argentona, the place where he made the connections.
From that moment on, the investigation focused on the identified person in order to obtain objective data on the modus operandi of his criminal activity and location of possible victims for their protection. He had been carrying out his professional activity for more than 15 years in the educational and recreational field of children between 3 and 17 years old.
After several efforts, the agents found out that the person under investigation worked in an entity that carried out leisure activities aimed at children and young people from 3 to 17 years old. All indications point to the fact that all of his professional and recreational activity revolved around minors.
In the final phase, and with judicial authorization, the entry and home search of the investigated person was carried out, finding numerous digital evidence with conversations held with the 11-year-old minor who began the investigation. As well as a large number of folders containing pornographic photographs and videos in which the detainee appears having sex with minors.
After computer analysis of the arrested person's computer, images of other victims were located, who at the time of the events were between 10 and 12 years old, where this predator even took advantage of children's sleep to make non-consensual sexual acts. After his arrest, the judge decreed the precautionary measure of unconditional imprisonment.
Later, it was found out that the professor's romantic partner also participated in sexual encounters with the minors, trying to strengthen ties with them in order to participate in said relationships. It was also learned that at both their homes, parties were organized with minors in a way that created the ideal environment to gain their trust with a view to maintaining deceptive relationships, going so far as to consolidate relationships with these minors up to two years old.
In this computer analysis, conversations with high pedophile content were also located between the professor and a former student of his, in which he requested help to access pedophile material. Both the professor's romantic partner and his former student have been arrested and brought to justice.
The investigation remains open, in order to locate other possible victims and other arrests close to the detainee's social environment are not ruled out.
