Australia will present a very renewed team for this friendly, with a lot of youth in its ranks, and with a last-minute change due to the injury of midfielder Alex Chidiac, from Racing Louisville, replaced by Kyra Cooney-Cross, from Hammarby.

As forward Emily Gielnik recognized, this game and the next one against Portugal is an "opportunity" for all those called up by Tony Gustavsson, against a Spain that he described as "one of the best in the world right now that is He is preparing for one of the biggest tournaments of his life (the European Championship)".
