The Italian police announced this Tuesday the arrest of three men and a woman suspected of having stolen, in April 2022 in Italy, a luxury watch from the Monegasque F1 driver Charles Leclerc.

According to a press release from the carabinieri, one of the men and the woman followed Charles Leclerc by car through the streets of Viareggio and helped his two accomplices to flee, who were on a motorcycle, after the theft of the precious watch.

On the occasion of the arrest of the four suspects, the Italian authorities have published the images of Leclerc's attempt to pursue the thieves, who had fled on a scooter with the luxurious watch and had the support of an SUV in which their friends were traveling. partners in crime.

The precise circumstances of this robbery have never been officially made public, but according to Italian media, the Ferrari driver had his watch snatched from his wrist by an alleged admirer who wanted to take a photo with him and was riding a motorbike with another companion.

In the images you can see both the SUV and the motorcycle, as well as the Ferrari 488 Pista of the F1 driver, who seems to be after the thieves. The perpetrators of the robbery fled to Naples after committing the crime, as reported by the police.

The Italian agency Ansa has specified that it is the RM 67-02 model of the Richard Mille brand, valued at approximately 300,000 euros. Some buyers have come to pay an even higher price for this specimen, since Christie's auction house had found a buyer in 2021 for 2.1 million euros.

Italian police have reported that the four suspects, from Naples, tried to steal a watch valued at 40,000 euros from an Italian citizen the same day, without success. They are also suspected of the robbery in August 2021 of a watch valued at 80,000 euros, stolen at gunpoint from a French tourist in Tuscany.

During the searches carried out at their homes, "two luxury watches whose origin could not be justified" and 23,000 euros in cash were found, according to the statement.
