The PDECat sees an opportunity in the exit of Government Meetings

The deputy general secretary of the PDECat, Marc Solsona, stated this Monday that the departure of JxCat from the Government opens "a new crack of opportunity" to "reconfigure" its political space: "The central lane of Catalanism is free."

In a telematic press conference, Solsona has indicated that, after Junts' decision, "it makes more sense than ever" for the PDECat to "claim" its space and "become visible".

Even so, for the PDECat, the breakdown of the coalition "is not good news for Catalonia", although it has indicated that Junts "was in opposition within the Government" and that the "daily agenda was in the background as everything was focused on the brawl" between partners.

In addition, Solsona has called Junts' decision to leave the Govern a "shot in the foot", while adding that asking the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, for a question of confidence "is a very interested strategy".

Solsona has indicated that the appointment of Carles Campuzano as Minister of Social Rights is a "very good decision", since it is a profile "that can add sensitivities" and "give prestige and credibility" to social affairs.

Forged in the Joventut Nacionalista de Catalunya (JNC), an organization that he came to lead, and representative of the social democratic wing of the former Convergència, Campuzano was a deputy in Congress between 1996 and 2019 under the initials of CDC and PDECat.

Solsona, who shared a seat in Congress with Campuzano between 2011 and 2015, has defined the new minister as "a benchmark" and "a good asset for the country".
