The painter's sea in Gavà

In this beautiful sunrise in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, portrayed on the Gavà beach, the photographs resemble real paintings by the great painter Antonio Hervás Amezcua.

He is the most international artist we have in Gavà. He is a friend and a world reference in painting that he exhibits all over the world and that more than once has told me: "Xavi, your photos look like real paintings". Art has no borders.

Antonio Hervás Amezcua, born in Jaén in 1951, has lived in Gavà since 1966. Graduated in Mural Procedures from the Llotja School of Applied Arts in Barcelona in 1980, he graduated in Painting from the Sant Jordi Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona in 1982 He is a professor of Drawing and studied engraving.

He held his first exhibition in 1972 and since then his work has been seen in Spain and partly abroad: the United States, Iceland, Brazil, Finland, Israel, Germany...

In 1989 he exhibited at the Ashkenazy Gallery. He was invited by his owner, Arnold Ashkenazy, to reside in California, where he had the opportunity to paint the works that became part of his private collection (Los Angeles, USA).
