The owner of a watch repair shop arrested for appropriating twenty luxury items

The National Police has arrested the co-owner of a watch repair store in the Madrid district of Salamanca for appropriating around twenty of them, all luxury watches, reports Efe.

The investigation began following complaints filed by several victims who claimed that they had left their watches to be repaired several months ago and that after repeated attempts to recover them they had not been returned, reports the National Police.

The agents verified that the arrested person had pawned several high-end watches in different buying and selling houses in Madrid.

At the moment, sixteen victims have been identified, from whom nineteen watches valued at one hundred thousand euros were stolen, and the co-owner of the store has been arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a continuing crime of misappropriation.

In the searches carried out, sixteen watches have been recovered that have been returned to their owners while the investigation remains open since it is not ruled out that there are more victims.
