The owner of a store in the Plaza de Tirso de Molina in Madrid is stabbed to death

María de los Ángeles, 61 years old and owner of the historic Vistebien work uniform store in Madrid's Plaza de Tirso de Molina, was stabbed to death this Monday inside the business she ran. The murderer has mortally assaulted her with a knife after entering the establishment to rob minutes before closing at noon.

It was 1:25 p.m. when María de los Ángeles was robbed at her premises. The robber, who was dressed in a plaid shirt, has stabbed him several times, at least one in the abdomen, and has fled from the place before the eyes of some of the numerous pedestrians and residents who passed through the central square at rush hour .

"When I looked inside the store and turned around again, it was gone, it had disappeared," a witness recounted. At that moment, the agents of the National Police arrived, who usually control the Tirso de Molina square. The victim was on the ground bleeding profusely and had a cardiorespiratory arrest, for which the policemen have begun to perform resuscitation maneuvers.

The emergency services have received a call for the stabbing of a woman of Spanish nationality inside an establishment in the aforementioned square. The doctors have performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her for half an hour without success, so they have finally confirmed her death.

The Police have not found the perpetrator or perpetrators of the fatal assault at the scene and have opened an investigation to clarify the homicide, the third in the Community of Madrid since last midnight.

The Homicide Group VI has taken charge of the investigation and its members, together with those of the Scientific Police, have traveled to the crime scene. There they collect evidence that can lead them to clarify what happened, including the recordings of the video surveillance cameras that the uniform business had, which presumably would have recorded the sequence of events.

María de los Ángeles had been running Vistebien, this business specializing in professional uniforms, since the 1990s. Maite, another merchant in the area, described the victim to reporters as a "very sweet and nice" woman who "did not deserve what they did to her."

Vistebien was founded in the 40s and was dedicated to the distribution of shirts and clothing for men. In 1990, it began to be directed by María de los Ángeles, the recent victim, and José Miguel, her brother.
