The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, has ordered the removal of the officials who intervened in the file regarding Teatre Murcia S.L. in 2022, as reported by municipal sources in a statement.
This Monday, Ballesta ordered the opening of an information file in order to clarify "everything that happened" in the administrative procedure related to the premises in the Atalayas area where the fire occurred last Sunday.
This precautionary measure is established while the investigation that began hours after the tragedy is being carried out, in order to "precisely determine the background, data and circumstances in the administrative process."
The person responsible for the instruction has been entrusted to collect, as a priority and urgently, "whatever data and reports are convenient or necessary from the different services."
These actions respond to the commitment expressed on Sunday by Ballesta to fully clarify the facts in relation to the order to cease activity at the Teatre nightclub issued by the Urban Planning Councilor of the previous Corporation in January 2022 and to clarify possible responsibilities.
It should be remembered that, as soon as the situation was known to the current Corporation, the councilor gave the order to appear as an accusation in the open judicial proceedings.
Likewise, last Sunday, Ballesta gave orders to review the administrative situation of all leisure venues in the municipality, as well as to verify compliance with the orders to cease activity issued.
