The Mossos investigate the violent death of a woman and her two children in Prat del Llobregat

A 43-year-old man murdered his two children and his wife on Tuesday and then committed suicide by throwing himself onto the train tracks in Prat de Llobregat. The Mossos d'Esquadra responded at four in the afternoon to the alert of those responsible for the station after a man threw himself onto the tracks as soon as he saw the convoy appear. During the removal of the body, the investigators located a note in which the individual, among other things, asked for "forgiveness." The police went to the family home and located the scene. The other three members, two young children and the woman, they had been murdered.

The police of the homicide group of the Metropolitan Police Region of the Mossos d'Esquadra have taken charge of the investigation.

With this terrible event, there are now seven minors murdered this year in Spain due to cases of sexist or vicarious violence, five of them in Catalonia. The last case occurred last Wednesday, April 3, in Bellcaire d'Empordà, Girona. A five-year-old minor was stabbed by his father, who also stabbed his mother twenty times with knives, although the woman managed to survive the attack.

Since 2013, a total of 55 minors have been murdered by their fathers or their mothers' partners in vicarious crimes, a figure that could rise to 57 if the two minors found dead this Tuesday in El Prat de Llobregat are included.

The father who killed his two children, ages 7 and 10, last January in Barcelona also committed suicide. In this case, according to sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, there were no previous complaints of sexist violence against him by his mother.

Since the beginning of this year, eight women have been murdered by their partners or ex-partners, a figure that would rise to nine if the sexist murder of the woman from El Prat is confirmed.
