The Mossos arrest a man for a homophobic attack in Barcelona

This Monday, the Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 22-year-old man for an alleged homophobic attack on two young people due to their sexual orientation in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona. The victims, two men aged 22 years and 23 years, have suffered minor injuries and have filed a complaint.

According to internal police sources, the accused had no criminal record before the events that occurred this morning. Although there was only one detainee, the attack was committed by a group of people who, while attacking the victims, insulted them for their sexual orientation.

The Catalan police were notified of the incident and, shortly after arriving at the scene, one of the victims and a witness recognized one of the alleged attackers in the area and the officers detained him.

On the other hand, the Observatori contra l'Homofòbia (OCH) has explained to Europa Press that on Saturday afternoon in the Sants neighborhood a man allegedly attacked a young man due to his sexual condition while he was walking his dog.

They have assured that they are working with the victim with legal and psychosocial support, and that this Monday afternoon they will go to a Mossos d'Esquadra police station to file a complaint.
