The great asset of Ciudadanos for May in Madrid has vanished. The mayor of Paracuellos de Jarama, and the most voted councilor of the orange formation in the Community, Jorge Alberto Campos, announced this Thursday that "he will not present himself under the brand of his already ex-partido to the next municipal elections", because "he will not has a future", as he considers that "it has been seen in the last stage".
This has been announced on social networks by Campos, who is the mayor of Cs with the most votes in the Community of Madrid and who affirms that he has already transferred this decision to the party, which he has taken "appealing to consistency and responsibility."
"I want to continue fighting for the interests of the residents of Paracuellos, but Ciudadanos has no future and I want a future for the town," he declared. The councilor regrets that in the orange formation there has been an "environment of tension and of putting the acronyms and political tendency before the real interests of the neighbors", before which he wants to opt for a project "in which the neighbor is the protagonist and center of politics".
From his writing it can be deduced that his intention is to continue in politics, in another formation, because he has stated that he has a project for Paracuellos "that began four years ago and that needs eight years to consolidate, and for that he is going to fight."
The new direction of Ciudadanos has played down the importance of the fact that its most voted mayor in Madrid has decided to break with the orange brand and run in the May elections with other acronyms. "It's a personal decision," the party's deputy spokesman, Deputy Guillermo Díaz, has limited himself to saying.
