The Madrid Assembly leaves Monasterio de Vox without pay for 15 days for voting twice

The Board of the Madrid Assembly has confirmed in its meeting this Wednesday the sanction to the Vox spokesperson, Rocío Monasterio, for voting twice in the Plenary Session on February 1 and will stop receiving her salary as a deputy for 15 days

This has been confirmed to Europa Press by sources from the governing body of the Chamber, who have pointed out that all parties except Vox have given their 'yes' to the sanction proposal, the minimum, issued by the instructor of the process, Mercedes Zarzalejos ( PP).

This ratification by the Board is not the last step, since Monasterio can request the reconsideration of this decision, which would open a period of a maximum of 15 days in which the sanction would not be applied.

This sentence is the culmination of the investigation that the Madrid Assembly opened on February 5 against Vox for double voting. It was about the vote on the amendment to the entire Más Madrid to the Circular Economy Law, which was rejected by the Chamber but in which it was noted that the bench headed by Monasterio had cast one more vote than the deputies they had.

In that plenary session, the resignation of the person who was 'number 2' of Monasterio on 28M, José Luis Ruiz Bartolomé, had already been processed, but his replacement Javier Pérez Gallardo had not taken office. That is why the seat next to Rocío Monasterio was empty.

The spokesperson voted on this initiative both in her seat and in the Bartolomé panel. The Vox leader has argued from the beginning that she was trying to shut down the adjacent seat and has stressed that she should never have been enabled.
