The legal services of the Madrid Assembly have warned of "legal problems" in the changes proposed by the PP for the election of the Telemadrid bodies that are included in the Proposal of Law on Measures for the Simplification and Improvement in the Efficiency of Institutions and Organizations of the Community of Madrid.

Specifically, it concerns the appointment of the general director of the entity and the Advisory Council. In the first case it would not be decided by the Madrid Assembly but by the general meeting of shareholders of Radiotelevisión Madrid (where the regional Executive is the only shareholder) and in the second it would be determined by the board of directors of RTVM.

For the lawyer, "the two articles that regulate these elections would be contrary to the parliamentary control of the media as established by article 20.3 CE and article 16.3 e) of the Statute of Autonomy," according to the legal services report, that Europa Press had access to and advanced the 'Cadena Ser'.

He also states that this argument would be reinforced by passing the "executive direction" of the entity from the Board of Directors to the general director, elected by the regional government.
