In Manresa, in the Bufalvent estate, on a hill with magnificent views of the Montserrat mountain, the Tarragona artist Tom Carr raised this majestic sculpture of 12 meters high, called Vertex, an example of land art that we see in Photos from the Readers of La Vanguardia.

The installation of this work responded to the desire to thank the work carried out by the numerous groups that made an effort to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.

This sculpture was also part of the ephemeral land art project Microscopies, which unites nature, art and culture. In this case, Vèrtex ended up staying installed as a stable work at this point on the Anella Verda in Manresa with views of Montserrat.

Specifically, the sculpture has become an artistic icon of the Parc del Secà, in the Bufalvent environmental park. It is "an initiative of the Consorci del Bages for waste management, which has enabled routes to offer visitors a new space where they can disconnect from noise and daily stress, have contact with nature and traditional agriculture and a place to recover awareness of the annual rhythms of cultivation: flowering, autumn, long summer afternoons..."

Tom Carr, professor at the International University of Catalonia in Barcelona, has taught classes at the Escola Massana for more than 20 years and has also given courses and conferences at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York or the Galician Art Center Contemporary of Santiago, among others.
