Walking through the Vall d'en Bas, in the Garrotxa region, you can take the route that takes us to the hermitage with the best views of the entire valley, Sant Miquel de Castelló, and to the town of Falgars, 460 meters away.

In this photograph in The Readers' Photos of La Vanguardia we can see how the moon sets on the hermitage of Sant Miquel de Castelló.

The Vall d'en Bas has a great historical heritage. Sant Miquel de Castelló is a hermitage located on a buttress of the Serrat de Sant Miquel within the Sierra de Llancers, in the last ridges of the northeast of Collsacabra. The panorama offered from the lookout covers the whole valley, Olot and the Pyrenees.

The original church had been the chapel of the castle of the viscounts of Bas pero. The fortress has been mentioned in documents since the 11th century. The hermitage, 953 meters high, is mentioned for the first time in the 14th century.

The Vall d'en Bas, in the Garrotxa, shines at the head of the Fluvià river, surrounded by the mountains of Corb, Sant Miquel, Llancers and Puigsacalm (1515 m).
